You can cycle right into the vast polders, explore the shores of the Frisian Lakes or visit the cozy villages such as Terherne, Grou and Joure. You can even cycle part of the Elfstedentocht past villages such as Sneek and IJlst. The most beautiful cycling vacation around the Frisian Lakes
During your cycling vacation in Friesland, you will not be bored for a moment. For example, you can cycle part of the famous Elfstedentocht, which takes you through beautiful polders and past old villages. A tour around the Sneekermeer lake is also highly recommended; you will cycle along three large lakes and continuously enjoy the view over the water. Would you like to stretch your legs? Then visit the charming village of Akkrum and settle down on the harbor terrace of De Koken or at café Kromme Knilles for a snack and a drink.

Dit is misschien wel de meest iconische route van de regio. U steekt tijdens uw tocht vier keer het water over met een fietspontje. Het brengt u op plekken waar u met de auto niet snel zou komen.

Een stevige tocht waarbij u het bekendste meer van Friesland volledig rondfietst. Onderweg passeert u maar liefst drie grote meren, wat zorgt voor een spectaculair uitzicht over het water.

Stay overnight during your cycling vacation in Friesland
Our vacation homes are stylishly furnished and almost all are located directly on the water. You have access to a spacious living room with kitchen, nice bedrooms and a modern bathroom. Whether you come as a couple or with the whole family; we have accommodations for groups of up to 14 people. Almost every cottage has its own jetty, so you can hop on the boat after cycling for a round trip on the Sneekermeer or the Pikmeer. Your dog is of course also very welcome! In our cottages a maximum of 2 pets are allowed. You can also rent a boat or go fishing from your own terrace.

Are the cycling routes in Friesland also suitable for less experienced cyclists?
Absolutely, Friesland is known for its excellent and flat bike paths. The junction system is very clear, making getting lost almost impossible. Because there are few differences in elevation, the routes are also perfectly doable for anyone on a regular city bike.
